{"id":6677,"date":"2026-04-30T15:18:02","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T15:18:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demokracia.umb.sk\/?p=6677"},"modified":"2026-05-20T15:23:49","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T15:23:49","slug":"news_2025-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demokracia.umb.sk\/index.php\/2026\/04\/30\/news_2025-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Institute for Democracy Partners with MIT on AI and Democracy Research"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are happy to share that the Institute for Democracy at Matej Bel University (UMB) is joining forces with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on a new research project looking at how generative artificial intelligence influences democratic attitudes and behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project,&nbsp;<strong>DIGAP (Democracy in the Age of Generative Persuasion)<\/strong>, has been funded through the MIT Global Seed Fund. Rather than simply asking whether AI shifts public attitudes, DIGAP takes a longer view \u2014 tracking the same individuals over time to understand whether any such effects hold, fade, or reverse, and for whom. This is made possible through our in-house&nbsp;<strong>VolebnyKompas panel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaboration is led on the UMB side by Jozef Michal Mintal, Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Institute for Democracy and the Data and Society Lab, and on the MIT side by Prof. Adam Berinsky and Prof. Dave G.
